Some days feel like spring, while others are so hot they make you wonder if summer has arrived. I'm really feeling the change of seasons. It's a bit of a struggle to decide what to wear in the morning.

Today, I'd like to introduce our cat collars made from "Mikawa Cotton," which are perfect for this time of year when humidity starts to become a concern.

Amazingly Soft Texture

Mikawa Cotton (Mikawa Momen) is a traditional textile from the Mikawa region of Aichi Prefecture, dating back to the Edo period.

Mikawa Cotton uses high-quality cotton also produced in Mikawa. It is woven gently and meticulously with skilled techniques, making it surprisingly soft despite its thickness.

I initially thought it might be stiff, but when I touched it, I was surprised by how soft and pleasant it felt against the skin.

Although it's a thick fabric, it doesn't feel heavy, and I sense a gentleness that seems to blend seamlessly with the skin. Indeed, fabrics carefully crafted from natural materials feel wonderful.

Three Mikawa Cotton Patterns

We've added new Mikawa cotton cat collars to our lineup. This time, we've prepared three types: "Stripe" which utilizes traditional patterns, refreshing "Dobby Weave," and simple yet profound "Plain."

The stripe features the distinctive "Mikawa-jima" (Mikawa stripes) unique to Mikawa cotton and beautiful color combinations. It's a very modern design that exudes elegance, and it gets more charming the more you look at it.

Dobby weave refers to a fancy woven fabric with regularly arranged patterns. If you look closely, the striped fabric has fine geometric patterns, which also makes for an elegant design.

And the plain design, while seemingly simple, has a wonderfully rich color that is unique to woven fabrics. It gives a refreshing impression, as if one could spend the season cool and light.

Another key point is its high durability. It's a relief that it's not easily damaged even if a cat's claws get caught. It also resists weakening even after being washed.
