Are you experiencing any of these issues?
"A hard Elizabethan collar is too cruel..."
"She's still small, so a heavy one won't work..."
"She bumps into furniture and gets startled..."
Many cats dislike Elizabethan collars.
Traditional Elizabethan collars are mostly made of plastic. They are hard and heavy, which puts too much strain on a cat's slender neck. Bumping into things everywhere and being unable to move as usual also causes stress.
We wondered if we could create a more comfortable Elizabethan collar for cats struggling with the pain of wounds or itchy skin. From that desire, Poponeko's "Light and Soft Elizabethan Collar for Cats" was born.
Why is an Elizabethan collar necessary?
An Elizabethan collar is used to protect an affected area from being licked, such as after surgery, an injury, or a skin problem.
Cats instinctively try to heal wounds by licking them. However, licking a wound can cause inflammation or reopen it, worsening the condition. It's also dangerous if they lick off topical medication.
While an Elizabethan collar may seem restrictive, it is essential for protecting the wound and promoting a speedy recovery.
Recommended for these uses
During the recovery period after spaying or neutering
Many cats tend to lick wounds from spaying/neutering or injuries. Choose a stress-free Elizabethan collar for your cat to help them endure the pain of their wounds.
Anti-over-grooming measures
The Elizabethan collar prevents the cat from licking below its neck. This product gently protects the skin of cats suffering from "over-grooming," where they lick their fur (on their stomach, legs, etc.) so much that it falls out.
To prevent scratching due to dermatitis
"Itching" from atopic dermatitis and other conditions often appears on the face, neck, and ears. An Elizabethan collar is ideal for preventing scratching. If it's a soft, cotton Elizabethan collar, even sensitive cats will feel comfortable.
Light and soft! Stress-free Elizabethan collar
Poponeko's Elizabethan collars are based on the concept of "stress-free." We focused on making them light and soft, of course, but also on ensuring they don't obstruct the cat's vision so that they can act as they normally would.
Lightweight design
It's only 26g*, so it won't be a nuisance.
To reduce stress as much as possible, the Elizabethan collar is designed to be simple and lightweight. It's so light that you'll forget you're wearing it, even after long periods of time.
*Weight for size S.
Gentle 100% cotton
It doesn't hurt when it bumps.
Made from very soft cotton, it won't hinder your cat's movements. Even if they bump into something, there's no loud noise or impact, so you can rest assured.
Visibility clear
Easy to eat and use the restroom while wearing!
To avoid obstructing the view, we've made the transparent areas as large as possible. Since you can see your surroundings well, you can eat and use the restroom as usual.
Everything is "cat first."
Cats who need an Elizabethan collar during post-surgery recovery, dermatitis treatment, or to prevent over-grooming due to stress are in a sensitive state, both mentally and physically.
An Elizabethan collar shouldn't be something they dislike. With that in mind, we aimed to create an Elizabethan collar that allows them to "sleep soundly even while wearing it."
Everything is for the sake of cats undergoing treatment. This Elizabethan collar is cat-first, with attention to every detail.
Minimizing stress for cats
With no metal parts and an extremely lightweight design, the use of hook-and-loop fasteners eliminates the "snap!" sound when fastening snap buttons. A dedicated hook-and-loop fastener guard is also included to prevent the cat's face from getting irritated.
Easy to clean and maintain hygiene
Made with stain-resistant, water-repellent domestic cotton fabric. Even if it gets dirty, you can wipe it off or quickly hand wash it to keep it clean. Since it touches the cat's skin, each collar is carefully handmade.
Easy to wear and a perfect fit
An ill-fitting Elizabethan collar can cause discomfort for cats. Poponeko's Elizabethan collars come in four sizes: S, M, L, and LL. The hook-and-loop fasteners allow for size adjustment, ensuring a good fit for kittens and large cats alike.
We're cheering on your cat's first time with an Elizabethan collar!
Dogs dislike Elizabethan collars because they feel "unnatural." We'll explain in detail how to choose the right size, how to put it on, and tips for getting your dog used to it.
