It's a common cat owner habit to collect your beloved cat's fallen whiskers from the floor. Many keep these collected whiskers carefully in cases like paulownia wood boxes, but I'm sure many of you feel "it's a little sad just to put them away..." 

Well, good news for those people! Felissimo Cat Club, which creates many unique cat goods, has released a "Cat Whisker Case with Charm" that allows you to carry your beloved cat's whiskers with you.

This time, I will report on its real-world usability, while also testing if my late beloved cat Jiji's "curled whiskers" will fit.

When the product arrived, my first thought was how cute and precious even the packaging was... The black cat drawn on the backing card for the "Cat Whisker Case with Charm" is just too adorable.

It's nice how such subtle touches that satisfy cat lovers' hearts are incorporated.

The instructions on the card for how to insert and remove whiskers are easy to understand with illustrations. I felt confident that even I, being clumsy, could easily put them in and take them out.

When I actually took the product out, the vibrant gold stood out and was beautiful! The beads on the cat charm vary in color depending on the tassel color.

The tassels come in three colors: "blue," "yellow," and "beige." The beads on the cat charm attached to the yellow tassel I received this time were a color somewhere between a pale brown and yellow.

Now, the question is whether Jiji's extremely curled whiskers will fit. Look at how much these white whiskers are curled.

Every time I open this whisker case, I regret not being able to unravel the mystery of why his whiskers curled so much and fell out right until the end (laughs).

I want to take Jiji's whiskers, not just the custom-made bone fragment ring, to many places and show him views he never saw during his lifetime. So please! Even if they're this curled, fit in!

As I wished that, and opened the lid of the "Cat Whisker Case with Charm," the hole for inserting the whiskers was larger than I expected, raising my hopes that "this might work...?"

However, the strongly curled parts were difficult to insert smoothly, and I sometimes felt resistance from the whiskers (like a Pokémon move). So, I decided to insert them from the side where the curl was weaker and the whisker was thinner.

This strategy was successful, and I managed to store the curled whiskers in the case! For owners of curly-haired cats with bent whiskers, I recommend observing the whiskers before inserting them and starting from the side with a weaker curl and thinner whisker.

Even in the case, the way it wiggles and bends is so characteristic of Jiji's whiskers... It makes me so happy that he asserts himself even in this form.

By the way, you can put multiple whiskers in. Blending white and black whiskers gave a different appearance.

Also, since the lid of the whisker case is screw-type, it seems unlikely to come off even when carried around. The large carabiner makes it easy to attach to any bag, which is also a plus.

The "Cat Whisker Case with Charm" can hold not only cat whiskers but also those of dogs, rabbits, and other animals. Since small beads can also be placed inside the case, it would be a good idea to express your pet's individuality through such creative touches.

Also, the cat charm and tassel can be easily removed from the carabiner. So, it would be nice to attach a charm with a motif of something your beloved cat liked, and remake it into a whisker case that feels more "like your cat."

In Jiji's case, he liked strawberries, so I might go look for strawberry charms at 100-yen stores or shops that sell handmade parts.

I think that being able to custom-make it into a one-of-a-kind item is also a great feature of this product.

Seeking tools for easier removal and a wider color variety for tassels!

The "Cat Whisker Case with Charm" has a relatively large opening for inserting whiskers, so I was able to use a toothpick to retrieve the whiskers from inside.

However, perhaps because I'm clumsy, it took me about 1-2 minutes to get them out, and for a moment I felt anxious, wondering "what if I can't get them out...?" So, I would be happy if a special tool or fine tweezers could be purchased to make it easier to remove the whiskers.

Also, if I were to be picky, I wish I could choose the tassel color when purchasing. Currently, they are sent randomly, but many owners have an image color for their cat, and I think some would feel an even stronger sense of joy and "closeness" by being reminded of their beloved cat's eye or fur color through the bead color.

And I hope that in the future, the tassel color variations will increase, making it easier to find a whisker case that truly represents "my cat." It would be even more satisfying if the color range catered to owners of various cat fur colors, such as grey, black, and white cats.
