Actually, I hadn't really had much experience with silk before. Even though I had the image of it being luxurious, I didn't know much about its benefits for hair and skin.

When I asked the team at Poponeko Workshop...

"If you use a silk pillowcase, you won't get bedhead."

"Silk innerwear doesn't make my skin itchy."

I was excited to learn how highly functional it is.

Silk, by nature, is an animal fiber made from silkworm cocoons. It's composed of proteins and amino acids, making it similar in composition to hair and skin.

It also has high moisturizing properties, so it's a gentle material that not only prevents hair and skin dryness but also protects against friction-induced irritation. The fact that I rarely get the static electricity shocks I dislike is a welcome bonus!

Of course, it's gentle on cats too!

Silk is a gentle material for fluffy cats as well.

Since the fabric is so supple, there's less worry about itching or rashes due to friction. It's also recommended for cats whose fur gets easily tangled and are concerned about broken hairs from collar rubbing.
