A new series of Poponeko cat collars is here!

Gentle, safe, and simple for cats. While maintaining the Poponeko style, all our members worked together to create a new cat collar that owners can feel even more secure about putting on their cats.

I would like to share the behind-the-scenes story of the development of this cat collar, which involved repeated trial and error.

To collar or not to collar?

"I feel like putting a collar on a cat is dangerous, so I don't." The impetus for developing the new series was hearing an owner's concern.

Many owners may hesitate, even though they know it's good to put a collar on as a measure against escape, because they worry about "what ifs."

"It might get caught on something and strangle them," "It's dangerous if they struggle and get gagged." I perfectly understand the worries that come to mind when thinking about your cat.

I wondered if we could create a cat collar that is safer and gives owners more peace of mind.

Wanting to prioritize the feelings of owners who care deeply for their cats, the new "Ultra Stretch Cat Collar" series was born.

Softer and more fluffy

With all workshop members exchanging various ideas, the creation of a cat collar packed with Poponeko's unique commitment began.

"It must be designed so the cat can escape if it gets caught on something."

"Wouldn't a stretchy fabric be safer?"

"After all, being soft and fluffy is non-negotiable."

Sometimes, even President Popo joined in, and we thought long and hard.

In an emergency, it should come off, and the cat should be able to escape. And being soft and not constricting is probably necessary for safety and security.

With that in mind, in addition to the "safety adjuster" buckle that releases under pressure, we decided to re-examine the material of the cat collar.

From a large number of samples and prototypes, we found it! It was the ultra-stretch material that perfectly met the conditions of being "fluffy soft," "light," and "stretchy."

The fabric chosen for the new cat collar is called Tenjiku. It's highly elastic, which is why Poponeko also uses it for its cat clothes.

When this Tenjiku fabric is cut into thin strips and stretched, it has the property of curling up. This is called fabric yarn, and it's characterized by its soft and elastic texture.

When we made a cat collar with this fabric, it turned out incredibly soft, like a marshmallow! And it's light too!!

While it may not look much different from other cat collars at first glance, touching it reveals its surprising softness and lightness.

Because it stretches well, if it gets caught on something, the cat can slip out of the collar. Furthermore, it has a safe design where the buckle also releases under pressure.

Of course, you can also attach a lost-and-found tag, a bell, and a name tag ♪

11 new colors now available!

The newly added Ultra Stretch Cat Collar comes in 11 colors. I love their beautiful hues ♪

Like other cat collars, it's available in sizes S to LL, and the size can be adjusted. First, measure your cat's bare neck size to choose the right size, then adjust it so that 2 to 3 fingers can fit comfortably underneath.
