A "cat harness" is designed to prevent your cat from escaping during disasters, vet visits, car rides, and other outings.
It's an item you'd want to have. Poponeko's cat harness was developed based on the results of a survey of 1,800 cat owners, using materials that are escape-proof and gentle on the skin and fur.

Poponeko's "cat-friendly harness" product development began with thorough research.
To determine what kind of cat harness cat owners wanted and what problems actual users faced, we conducted a survey of 1,800 cat owners. Based on the information gathered from their responses, we repeatedly developed prototypes as a cat-specific harness, rather than simply adapting a dog harness.

The biggest concern with cat harnesses is "slipping off."
We developed an ultra-three-dimensional vest type that firmly covers a cat's soft body. Vest-style harnesses have a larger contact area with the skin, making them less likely to slip off. The back is securely fastened with a 5cm wide hook-and-loop closure. The highly cushioned lining gently yet firmly holds your cat's upper body.

We also focused on "ease of use" for when you need it.
A product that requires reading an instruction manual to put on is not user-friendly. To thoroughly eliminate inconvenience for pet owners, we repeatedly made prototypes and adopted a simple design that is easy to put on and take off. You can quickly put it on your cat before they even have a chance to dislike it, ensuring a pleasant experience for your cat.
■ Gentle on skin and fur, made with organic cotton
We applied the concept of "anti-balding cat collars" to our harnesses.
The lining that touches the cat's skin is made of luxuriously soft domestic organic cotton, reducing the burden on the skin and fur. The hook-and-loop fastener on the back is a soft type, also used in human baby clothes, to avoid discomfort for the cat. The outer fabric is made of domestic cotton-poly denim, which provides the necessary firmness for a secure fit, is resistant to dirt, and is thin and form-fitting, minimizing hindrance to the cat's movement.
■ Poponeko's harness can be washed at home
To prevent the growth of germs and parasites that can cause skin and fur problems and to keep the skin clean, the harness can be washed at home.
Hand wash or, if using a washing machine, place in a laundry net and wash on a "delicate cycle." To dry, smooth out wrinkles and hang dry in the shade.

■ How to accustom your cat to a harness
- When wearing a cat harness for the first time, most cats will dislike it or become immobile.
- When wearing a cat harness for the first time, don't force it; accustom your cat to it gradually, starting with short periods.
- Start with a few minutes to about 10 minutes, and if your cat shows discomfort, remove it immediately.
- If your cat freezes or lies down even after you've managed to put it on, remove it immediately without forcing it.
- Accustom your cat to it slowly and patiently over several days to several weeks.
