With a design that uses no metal parts or hook-and-loop fasteners, and simply slips over with a rib, we've eliminated friction irritation. We've incorporated small innovations such as not including a brand name tag and using 100% cotton for the size tag. If the seams bother your cat, it's reversible and can be worn inside out.

To prevent the growth of germs and parasites that cause skin and fur problems, and to keep the skin clean, you can wash it at home. Hand wash or, if using a washing machine, place it in a laundry net and wash on a "hand wash cycle." Hand washing will significantly extend its lifespan. For drying, smooth out wrinkles and air dry in the shade.

■ Correct Way to Wear the Neck Guard

• Gently slip it over your cat's head.
• After putting it on, gently smooth out any folds or wrinkles in the fabric so that it follows the line from the neck to the shoulders.
• When wearing it, ensure there is enough room for 2-3 human fingers around the neck to avoid constricting your cat's neck.
