It's definitely an item you'll want to have. Poponeko's cat harness was developed based on a survey of 1,800 pet owners, designed to be escape-proof and made with materials gentle on skin and fur.

■ Product Development "Exclusively for Cats" Based on a Survey of 1,800 Pet Owners

The development of Poponeko's "cat-friendly harness" began with extensive research.

To understand what kind of cat harness cat owners and their cats needed, and what problems actual users faced, we conducted a survey of 1,800 cat owners. Based on the information gathered, we developed prototypes, not as repurposed dog harnesses, but as harnesses specifically designed for cats.

■ Ultra-Three-Dimensional Structure for Secure, Escape-Proof Hold

The biggest concern with cat harnesses is that they might come off.

We developed an ultra-three-dimensional vest type that securely covers your cat's soft body. Vest-type harnesses have a larger surface area in contact with the skin, making them less likely to come off. The back is securely fastened with a hook-and-loop fastener approximately 5cm wide. The highly cushioned lining gently and securely holds your cat's upper body.

We also focused on making it "easy to put on" when you need it.

A harness that requires reading instructions isn't user-friendly. To completely eliminate owner frustration, we went through repeated prototyping and adopted a simple design that is easy to put on and take off. You can quickly put it on before your cat has a chance to dislike it, preventing any negative impressions.

■ Gentle on Skin and Fur, Made with Organic Cotton

We applied the concept of "anti-hair loss cat collars" to our harnesses.

The lining, which touches your cat's skin, is made of domestically produced organic cotton with a wonderfully soft texture, reducing stress on the skin and fur. The hook-and-loop fastener on the back uses a soft type, also found in human baby clothes, to prevent discomfort for your cat. The outer fabric is made of domestically produced cotton-poly chambray, which has the necessary stiffness for a secure hold, is resistant to dirt, and is thin and form-fitting to minimize hindrance to your cat's movement.

■ Poponeko's Harnesses are Machine Washable

To prevent the growth of bacteria and parasites that can cause skin and fur problems, and to keep the skin clean, our harnesses are machine washable at home.

Hand wash, or if using a washing machine, place in a laundry net and use the "delicate cycle." When drying, smooth out wrinkles and air dry in the shade.

■ How to Accustom Your Cat to a Harness

• When wearing a cat harness for the first time, most cats will resist or become immobile.
• When your cat wears a harness for the first time, don't force it; accustom them gradually, starting with short periods.
• Start with a guideline of a few minutes to about 10 minutes, and if your cat resists, remove it immediately.
• If your cat freezes and stops moving or lies down after putting it on, remove it immediately without forcing them.
• Accustom them slowly and patiently over several days to several weeks.
